Brazil reinforces its pioneering role in the global energy transition. By demonstrating in practice how it is possible to replace oil derivatives and create a clean and increasingly self-sufficient energy matrix, the country takes the lead in a movement that now guides the largest economies in the world. The next technological and industrial leaps of this national leadership will be the focus of discussions at Fenasucro & Agrocana and the conference space of the event, FenaBio, between August 11 and 14, 2026, at the Zanini Events Center, in Sertãozinho/SP.

Brazil's prominence goes beyond the environmental agenda and is underpinned by a solid economic reality. The productive sector is now operating supported by guidelines such as the Future Fuel Law, which brought the legal predictability needed to unlock around R$ 260 billion in private investments by 2037. This scenario proves the industry's maturity, which is actively working to modernize biorefineries, reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels, and shield the domestic market from international fluctuations.

For the director of Fenasucro & Agrocana, Paulo Montabone, the current context consolidates a historical evolution that places Brazil ahead of the global market. "If we go back a bit in history, Proálcool was created precisely as a response to the 1973 oil crisis, as a national plan for independence made official in 1975. Today, we understand that these large supplies of biofuels, which started with sugarcane, moved on to biodiesel and now receive the complement of corn, will, in a short time, allow us to 'clean' fossil fuels through blending. They will harm the environment less, extending their lifespan," he highlights.

Expectation for E32 and B16

It is precisely in the strategy of 'cleaning' the fossil fuel matrix pointed out by Montabone that the expectation for expanding fuel blends lies. The sector's expectation is for the increase of anhydrous ethanol in gasoline to 32% (E32) and biodiesel in fossil diesel to 16% (B16), still in the first half of 2026.

According to the Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, this progress has the potential to reduce the need for fossil fuel imports by approximately 500 million liters per month.

RenovaBio and the financial engine

To sustain this vanguard, production finds financial support in RenovaBio, a national policy that consolidates Decarbonization Credits (CBIOs). For 2026, the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) set the acquisition target at 48.09 million CBIOs.

"In practice, they function as a financial asset linked to environmental performance, transforming efficiency and sustainability into additional revenue — an indispensable instrument for leveraging technological innovations in the sector," explains Montabone. According to him, it is a fact that CBIOs have consolidated themselves as one of the main financing gears of the Brazilian energy transition, accelerating investments in efficiency, automation, and expansion of the productive capacity of biorefineries.

Accreditation and FenaBio tickets

Accreditation for the 32nd Fenasucro & Agrocana, free of charge and aimed at visitors, is now open and can be done through the event's official website. Accreditation for the press and press offices will open soon.

Ticket sales for the 2nd edition of FenaBio are also open and can be purchased at this link.

Fenasucro & Agrocana – Recognized as the world's largest fair focused on the bioenergy production chain, the 32nd edition of Fenasucro & Agrocana is expected to bring together, in 2026, visitors from over 80 countries, more than 600 exhibiting brands, with the main national and international manufacturers of equipment, solutions, and technologies aimed at biofuel and clean energy production.

The fair is promoted by RX Brazil, with exclusive support from CEISE Br, and has established itself as the main platform for connecting the supplier industry with buyers in the bioenergy sector.

In 2026, parallel to the fair, the 13th Latin American Congress of ATALAC will also take place, an international event that brings together professionals from Latin America and the Caribbean, organized by STAB (Brazilian Society of Sugar and Alcohol Technicians).
