Potigas concluded the first phase of the Public Call 2022 for the purchase of natural gas. Galp Energia Brasil and Potiguar E&P were the two classified for the next stage of contractual negotiation.

Last month, Potigas launched a public notice for the purchase of a total volume of 85,000 m³/day, with 61,000 m³/day of natural gas for immediate supply and 24,000 m³/day for incremental supply from January 1, 2023 , valid for five years.

The two classified companies already supply natural gas to Potigas. Potiguar E&P extracts gas onshore from Rio Grande do Norte, while Galp extracts from pre-salt areas.

Since the opening of the market, Potigás has been making public calls for the acquisition of natural gas in a transparent manner, enabling the participation of more companies and the negotiation of attractive prices to guarantee a more competitive tariff for the potiguar market.
