Companhia de Gás de Minas Gerais (Gasmig) celebrates 39 years of operations in the state, marking significant milestones in its history and reinforcing its commitment to the economic, social, and environmental development of Minas Gerais.
Since 1986, Gasmig has held the exclusive right to distribute piped natural gas throughout the state. Over nearly four decades, the company has established itself as a key player in expanding the use of piped natural gas in Minas Gerais, supplying homes, industries, businesses, hospitals, schools, and fuel stations across various regions.
Having surpassed 100,000 customers and achieved historic financial results, Gasmig looks to the future with optimism. The company continues to invest in infrastructure, technology, and innovation to expand its service capacity, with an increasing focus on reaching the countryside and promoting energy sustainability.
"We are proud of our journey marked by dedication, investments, and a relationship of trust with the people of Minas Gerais. We promote energy matrix diversification, with natural gas—and potentially biomethane—as enablers to reduce environmental impact and strengthen the economy by generating jobs and opportunities," says Gasmig’s President, Carlos Camargo de Colón (pictured).
New Distribution Center in Divinópolis
As part of the Centro-Oeste Project, Divinópolis will soon host a new Gasmig Distribution Center (DC), strengthening the company's connection with the region and enabling the expansion of piped natural gas supply to more customers.
The opening of the DC in Divinópolis symbolizes a new phase for Gasmig—closer to the countryside, more inclusive, and better equipped to foster regional growth.
The company thanks its customers, partners, and employees, and continues to connect people, businesses, and opportunities to build a more sustainable future for Minas Gerais.
