PBGÁS will be reducing the average tariff for natural gas by 15.7%, as of August 1, ensuring product competitiveness for all market segments.

This is the third reduction in tariffs granted by PBGÁS this year with the objective of encouraging users of natural gas in this period of pandemic and guaranteeing the competitiveness of the market. The Company decided for the full transfer granted by the supplier due to the drop in the cost of gas for tariffs in all segments, 16.9% for CNG, 19.8% for GNC, 16.9% for industrial, 9, 4% for commercial, 6.8% for residential, 20.8% for EBVA and 21.7% for distributed generation.

The CEO of PBGÁS, Taciana Amaral (photo), highlighted that this new reduction comes at a time of economic crisis caused by the pandemic of COVID-19, and that even with the scenario of reduction of gas volumes, the Company opted for soften the impact for its users and encourage users of natural gas in the state, seeking to preserve the market in all segments.

In order to have an idea of the impact of the 16.9% reduction, the price of CNG (excluding taxes) sold for gas stations that today is R $ 1.70, in August will fall to R $ 1.41. Entrepreneurs in the commerce and industry segments, which have been suffering a lot from the impacts of the crisis, will have a relief in their gas bill starting in August.

The commercial technical director of PBGÁS, Paulo Campos, highlighted that the company has been developing actions to minimize the effects of the pandemic, such as consecutive reductions in the gas tariff for industries and commerce, in addition to incentives such as the debts and actions to support the use of delivery. “We understand this delicate moment that these strategic sectors are going through in our economy and we go to great lengths to help our customers to resume their activities gradually and as far as possible. We hope that this new reduction will stimulate the resumption of our clients' activities and reaffirm our commitment to the development of the State of Paraíba.

CNG

According to the market manager of PBGÁS, Alairson Gonçalves, the expectation is that the stations will pass on any reduction received to CNG users, reducing at least R $ 0.29 at the pumps, supporting the resumption of economic activity, following a downward trend since the May this year, when PBGÁS reduced the fuel tariff by 7.8%. "As gasoline continues to rise, the competitiveness of CNG should surpass 35% in savings compared to gasoline, something very relevant for professionals who use the car for work and experience a delicate moment".
