The participation of Bahia’s governor, Jerônimo Rodrigues, was one of the highlights of the second day of iBEM 2026, held in Salvador. In an exclusive interview with TN Petróleo, the state’s chief executive reinforced the strategic role of Bahia in advancing Brazil’s energy transition.
During the conversation, Jerônimo emphasized the importance of structuring initiatives, such as the launch of the Bioenergy Atlas, to boost new investments and expand the presence of renewable sources in Bahia’s energy matrix.
“The state of Bahia plays a central role in this energy transition process, whether due to its potential in renewable energies or its ability to attract investments,” he stated.
The governor also highlighted the commitment to professional training and regional development, pointing out that the advancement of the energy sector is directly linked to job and income generation.
“We are working to ensure that this growth comes with opportunities for our population, through education, innovation, and productive inclusion,” he said.
iBEM 2026 brings together authorities, experts, and industry representatives to discuss the future of energy in the country, with a focus on sustainability, energy security, and competitiveness. The governor’s presence reinforces the alignment between public authorities and the productive sector in building an agenda aimed at Brazil’s energy future.
