After ending a very positive year, reaching approximately 11 thousand customers, MSGÁS announces a new step for 2021. An additive for the construction and extension of its network was approved in order to serve the new JBS plant in Mato Grosso do Sul.

JBS is the second largest food company in the world and the largest in animal protein. This new branch will exclusively serve the company, supplying natural gas for its operations at the new Sul-Mato Grosso unit, in Campo Grande, near the exit to Sidrolândia.

MSGÁS acts in all stages of the process, from the technical-economic feasibility study, to the preparation of the executive project. In addition, the Company performs the construction and assembly of the distribution branch, as well as the installation of the metering and pressure reduction station for natural gas with the Customer. The estimated consumption is 5.0 thousand cubic meters of natural gas per day, enough for the plant to operate efficiently, uninterrupted and sustainable.

Operation advantages

For Rui Pires dos Santos, CEO of MSGÁS, this type of project is of great importance for the Company. “We are happy whenever projects like this are carried out, as they mean development and income generation for Mato Grosso do Sul”, he points out.

The forecast is that the supply for the new JBS plant will start in March 2021. “We will meet within the established deadline”, guarantees Rui. Natural gas, as an energy source, is clean and economical when compared to other forms of energy conventionally used. In addition, it adds value to the final product, bringing gains in efficiency, sustainability and operational flexibility.
