Natural gas production in Brazil in July totaled 115 million cubic meters per day (m3 / d), surpassing the 111.8 million cubic meters / d registered in December 2016. The volume represents a 3.5% increase in relation to month and 7.3% in relation to July 2016.

Oil production totaled 2.263 million barrels per day (bbl / d), a decrease of 1.9% compared to the previous month and an increase of 1.5% in relation to the same month in 2016. The reduction in June is mainly due to the scheduled shutdown of the P-58 platform, which operates in the area called "Parque das Baleias" (development areas of Jubarte, Baleia Azul, Baleia Franca and Baleia Anã).

The total production of oil and natural gas in the country was approximately 3.346 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe / d). The complete bulletin is available at http://www.anp.gov.br/wwwanp/publicacoes/boletins-anp/2395-boletim-mensal-da-producao-de-petroleo-e-gas-natural.

Pre-salt

Pre-salt production in July totaled approximately 1.613 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, a 4.3% reduction compared to the previous month. The production, from 80 wells, was 1.293 million barrels of oil per day and 51 million cubic meters of natural gas per day. The pre-salt production corresponded to 48.2% of the total produced in Brazil. The "pre-salt" wells are those whose production is carried out in the geological horizon called pre-salt, in fields located in the area defined in section IV of the caput of article 2 of Law 12,351 / 2010.

Gas Burning

The use of natural gas in the month reached 96.3%. Gas flaring in July was 4.2 million cubic meters per day, a decrease of 6.3% compared to the previous month and 3.5% compared to the same month in 2016.

Producing fields

The Lula field, in the Santos Basin, was the largest producer of oil and natural gas. It produced, on average, 789 thousand bbl / d of oil and 34.2 million m³ / d of natural gas.

Marine fields produced 95.2% of oil and 77.6% of natural gas. The production took place in 8,234 wells, being 751 seafarers and 7,483 terrestrial. The fields operated by Petrobras produced 93.3% of the oil and natural gas.

Estreito, in the Potiguar Basin, had the largest number of producing wells: 1,090. Marlim, in the Campos Basin, was the maritime field with the largest number of producing wells: 61.

The FPSO Cidade de Mangaratiba, located in the Lula field, produced 188.5 thousand boe / d through 6 wells connected to it, and it was the UEP (Stationary Production Unit) with the highest production.

Other information

In July 2017, 304 concessions, operated by 25 companies, were responsible for domestic production. Of these, 79 are maritime concessions and 225 are terrestrial. It should be noted that, of the total of the production concessions, two are in exploratory activity and produce through Long-Term Testing (TLD), and another seven are related to contracts in areas containing marginal accumulations.

The average API grade was 26.7, with 36.1% of the production considered light oil (> = 31 ° API), 47.2% medium oil (> = 22 API and <31 API) and 16.6% oil heavy (<22 API).

The mature terrestrial basins (fields / long-term tests of the Espírito Santo, Potiguar, Recôncavo, Sergipe and Alagoas basins) produced 128.8 thousand boe / d, of which 104.6 thousand bbl / d of oil and 3.8 million m³ / d of natural gas. Of this total, 123.6 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day were produced by Petrobras and 5,2 thousand boe / d for concessions not operated by Petrobras, of which 327 boe / d in Alagoas, 2,476 boe / d in Bahia, 74 boe / d in Espírito Santo, 2,121 boe / d in Rio Grande do Norte and 206 boe / d in Sergipe.
