The president of Petrobras, Maria das Graças Foster, presented yesterday in Macaé (Rio de Janeiro state), a swing of the Operational Efficiency Program, the Campos Basin (Proef). According to company president, managed the operational efficiency of the unit operations in the Campos Basin (UO-BC) platforms increased from 71.7% in 2012 to 75.4% in 2013. Unit Operations in Rio de Janeiro (Rio-UO), which administers the newest production platforms located in the same basin, operational efficiency now, in the same period, from 91.7% to 92.4%.
An important consequence of this increased efficiency reflected in increased production: 25,000 barrels of oil per day in 2012 and 63 thousand barrels of oil per day in 2013.
More than numbers, however, the Proef are making a change of attitude in the pursuit of operational excellence, said the president. "This program is the recognition of the importance of oil that already dominate, we produce at a lower cost. Worth But no oil insecurity or who endangers someone's life. Which is why the Proef faces also to the integrity of our units", he said.
At the event, which was opened by the director of exploration and production of Petrobras, José Formigli, was also announced the expansion of the program to Unit Operations of Petrobras in Espírito Santo (ES-UO). The objective is to maintain high operational efficiency of production systems managed by that unit, through specific structural actions and targets to be set for each production system.
The Proef was created as one of the major programs of the Business Plan and Management (PNG) of the company aiming to recover the operating efficiency of the BU-BC, which came with a declining trend since 2009.
To achieve these results maintenance campaigns are being carried out with five units Maintenance and Safety (UMS) already in operation - three more expected to arrive later this year - as well as compliance with a strict schedule of shutdowns. In addition, the program develops intensive campaigns repair of wells, inventory optimization and standardization of parts and replacement materials.
With increasing annual targets, the Proef proposes to recover the level of 90% operating efficiency in OU-2016 BC and included a contribution of additional resources of US$ 5.6 billion. For UO-Rio are scheduled additional expenditures of US$ 710 million to make permanent a level of operational efficiency of 94% from 2016. Until December last year the program recorded expenditures of US$ 1.6 billion, with a return in terms of Net Present Value (NPV) of US$ 2.2 billion.
