At the 56th Offshore Technology Conference Offshore - OTC2024, from May 6 to 9 in Houston, Texas, ouronova, a Brazilian deep tech company operating in the energy sector, is presenting a digital solution for managing the integrity of oil and gas wells, using artificial intelligence and machine learning resources.
It is a computational platform that adds 'intelligence' to data interpretation, ensuring greater reliability in assessing the quality and integrity of the cement layer in wells with multiple casings. ouronova will demonstrate the solution at Booth 421 in the Brazilian Pavilion, organized by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
The disruptive solution can be used in mature fields, pre-salt, and new frontiers, in both producing wells and new wells - including Monai, Brazil's deepest well, drilled to 7,700 meters by Petrobras in the pre-salt of the Espírito Santo basin, in waters 2,366 meters deep.
"This technology can be used at any time when it is necessary to inspect the cement layer, from construction to abandonment, including various workover operations throughout the well's life," said Eduardo Costa, CEO of ouronova.
The main differentiator of the solution lies in supporting operators in interpreting cement integrity profiles through an automatic tool built with Machine Learning models (an area of Artificial Intelligence). "The goal of the tool is to work as an assistant, increasing efficiency and reliability, as the software provides an interpretation of cement quality in a few minutes, with profiles being analyzed in detail, generating a meter-by-meter diagnosis," adds Costa.
Accelerated Development
He explains that the development of ouronova’s computational platform is the result of projects developed with resources from the research, development, and technological innovation (RDT&I) clause of contracts from the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels (ANP), in partnership with Repsol Sinopec and the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio).
Costa emphasizes that the use of artificial intelligence functions as an assistant for the interpretation of this data, generating efficiency and increasing the reliability of interpretation. "We will expand this concept to increase efficiency in interpreting other well integrity parameters,"
