Petrobras Distribuidora today announced that it signed in March with Logum Logistics, a contract for the transportation of ethanol via pipeline transportation. Designed to be built in ten stages, the pipeline will cross 45 municipalities, linking the major producing regions of ethanol (85% of national production) in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Goiás and Mato Grosso do Sul, the main point of storage and distribution in Paulínea (SP).
This will be a "hub" (main storage) for distribution to other markets of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The conclusion of this agreement enables Petrobras Distribuidora get a competitive edge against the economic benefits of the pipeline mode across the road and better logistic positioning in the acquisition, collection and distribution of ethanol in a market with expected growth in the medium and long term.
