Company to receive the highest award in the industry on the event’s first day

From May 4 to 7, in Houston, USA, Petrobras will be participating in the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), the world’s biggest event dedicated to offshore oil exploration and production. At this year’s edition, the company will receive the OTC Distinguished Achievement Award for Companies, Organizations, and Institutions – the highest recognition that an oil company can receive as an offshore operator. Petrobras directors Solange Guedes (Exploration and Production), Hugo Repsold (Gas and Electricity) and Roberto Moro (Engineering, Technology and Materials) will be attending the conference.

Petrobras’ participation in the event will begin on Sunday, May 3, with the awards dinner, starting at 17:30. The company was chosen in recognition of the set of technologies it has developed for production in the pre-salt layer, and the award will be received by Director Solange Guedes.

On Monday, May 4, at 14:00, Brazil’s Minister of Mines and Energy, Eduardo Braga, and Petrobras directors Solange Guedes, Hugo Repsold and Roberto Moro will visit the company’s booth at the fair. This space will feature audiovisual and interactive content about Petrobras’ pioneering technologies for pre-salt exploration and production.

On Tuesday, May 5, Director Solange Guedes will give a talk on Pre-Salt: What Has Been Done So Far and What is Coming Ahead, from 12:15 to 13:45. On the same day, from 9:30 to 12:00, there will be a technical session about pre-salt, called Pre-Salt: 8-Year Journey from the Wildcat Well to more than Half-million Barrels per Day. This session, which will be opened by Petrobras’ executive manager for the Libra Area, Anelise Lara, will be divided into seven presentations, all given by Petrobras technicians and executives. On the afternoon of the same day, from 14:00 to 16:30, the work undertaken in the Sapinhoá and Lula Nordeste pre-salt fields will be examined in a session called Sapinhoá Lula NE – Project Challenges & Lessons Learned.

The following day, May 6, Petrobras technicians will present their work regarding safety processes in offshore operations, during the Offshore Process Safety: Past, Present and Future session, from 14:00 to 16:30.

Petrobras to participate in other events alongside the OTC

As well as the conference, the company will participate in two parallel events. The advisor to Petrobras’ CEO on local content and executive coordinator of the Program to Mobilize the National Oil and Gas Industry (Prominp), Paulo Alonso, will give a talk during a seminar called Providing goods and services for the oil industry in Brazil: opportunities for foreign suppliers in a new scenario, which is aimed at attracting foreign companies to Brazil. This event will take place at the Crowne Plaza Houston on Monday, May 4, starting at 14:00. Petrobras’ market development manager in the Materials area, Ronaldo Martins, will also be speaking at the event.

In addition, Paulo Alonso will be giving a presentation on Marine Demands for 2020-2030: Local Content and Opportunities in a New Environment during an event organized by the Brazil-Texas Chamber of Commerce (Bratecc), on May 6, from 7:00 to 10:30, at The Westin Galleria. At the same event, Petrobras’ executive manager for Exploration and Production Services, Cristina Pinho, will be addressing the topic of A New Business Model Applied to Upstream Logistics.
