OTC 2015
Petrobras Agency / T&B Petroleum
In May 2015, Petrobras will receive for the third time the OTC Distinguished Achievement Award for Companies, Organizations, and Institutions in Houston (USA), for recognition to the set of technologies developed for the production of pre-salt layer. This award is the highest recognition that an oil company can receive.
In 1992, Petrobras received the award for outstanding technical achievements related to the development of production systems in deep water for the Marlim field and, in 2001, by advances in technologies and economy of deepwater projects in the Roncador field.
In a letter announcing the award Petrobras, the president of the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), Edward G. Stokes, said: "This award is a recognition of the remarkable, significant and unique achievements of Petrobras, and the great contributions to our industry (offshore oil and gas). The selection committee (OTC) was extremely impressed with this appointment. The achievements that Petrobras made in drilling and production of these challenging reservoirs are world class. The industry learned a lot from the information shared by Petrobras on the pre-salt in the articles and sessions presented at OTC. We all benefit from your success.”
Production in pre-salt
The recent oil production record in the pre-salt layer, 713 thousand barrels per day of oil, obtained on 21/12/2014, shows the strength of the applied technologies.
