The scheduled shutdown at one of the Presidente Bernardes Refinery units (RPBC) in Cubatão (SP) is a routine procedure in Petrobras' industrial facilities. This type of maintenance, which follows normative items and international safety standards, has among its objectives to maintain the integrity of the equipment, to implement improvements in order to guarantee the reliability of operations and optimization of productive processes.

RPBC is the refinery responsible for the production of aviation gasoline in Brazil, with a capacity of 5 million liters per month. The production of this fuel requires specific process units, only existing in this refinery. To maintain the supply of the product in the market, Petrobras is making imports. Customers were previously advised and there is stock of the product in Santos (SP) for prompt delivery to the distribution companies, which resell aviation gasoline to final consumers. New imports are scheduled with delivery forecasts for the end of January and February, totaling 19.2 million liters imported. Imports will not cause any price impact to distributors, since the product price policy is maintained.

The maintenance in the RPBC, which involves about 130 professionals, began in August. Since the planning phase, risk studies have been carried out, pointing out the improvements that will be implemented during the first half of 2019. The return to the unit's activities is scheduled for June 2019.
