The Secretary of Oil, Gas and Biofuels of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, José Mauro Ferreira, said that the launch of the Program to Revitalize and Encourage the Production of Maritime Fields (Promar) should occur in early February 2021 in the municipality of Macaé, in the North of Rio de Janeiro. The secretary's announcement took place during an online event to close the 2020 activities of Circuito Brasil, promoted by ONIP (National Organization of the Oil Industry) and ABPIP (Brazilian Association of Independent Oil and Gas Producers), on 12/16, with the support of Firjan.

José Mauro pointed out that Promar's programming and development will follow Reate's premises, excepting its specificities. According to him, the objective is to extend the useful life of marginal fields in the post-salt, enabling a new generation of jobs in the sector and the expansion and maintenance of the goods and services industry.

The secretary praised the work carried out by Circuito Brasil, launched this year with the aim of bringing the Brazilian regional market even closer to the major players in this industry. With 41 webinars, passing through 7 states, Circuito Brasil promoted, during the second semester, the Mesa Reate, MME program. José Mauro also confirmed that the next Mesa Reate will take place in January, in Bahia.

President of the Deliberative Council of ONIP and Firjan, Eduardo Eugenio Gouvêa Vieira highlighted that 2020 was a challenging year, given the greatest health crisis facing the world. Even so, according to Eduardo Eugenio, there were advances in the sector such as the development of natural gas, the discussion of the gas milestone in Congress, the Abastece Brasil and Reate programs, among others.

In addition to José Mauro and Eduardo Eugenio, the online meeting brought together Raphael Moura, acting director general of the ANP; Vitório Semmionato, from FIEMG; Luis Claudio Montenegro, from FINDES; Miguel Andrade, from FIEB; and Juliana Ferreira Borges, from Sebrae; plus moderators Anabal Santos, from ABPIP; Márcio Félix, from ONIP; and Karine Fragoso from ONIP / Firjan.
