President Dilma Rousseff is scheduled to land early on Friday afternoon (Apr 10) in Panama City to take part in the 7th Summit of the Americas. In addition to the summit, Rousseff is expected to attend a number of bilateral gatherings, among which a meeting with US President Barack Obama. She is expected to stay in the country until Saturday (11).

For the first time with the presence of all 35 heads of state of the continent, the 7th Summit of the Americas is expected to seal the rapprochement between the US and Cuba. It will be the first time in over 50 years that leaders from the two countries sit together at a negotiation table.

Rousseff's first appointment is a meeting with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto. Next, she is to attend the Business Forum Panel of the Americas, on the continent's productive integration for inclusive development.

In the afternoon, Rousseff meets with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. On Wednesday (7), the Brazilian government launched a pact against human rights violations on the internet, supported by Facebook and other companies. Afterwards, the Brazilian head of state is slated to attend a hearing with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and a meeting the Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos.

In the evening, Rousseff is scheduled to take part in the official opening ceremony of the 7th Summit of the Americas followed by the dinner for heads of state organized by Panama's President Juan Carlos Varela Rodrigues. After the dinner, Rousseff and Argentina's Kirchner are expected to meet.

The meeting with Obama is to take place on Saturday. Rousseff is expected to return to Brazil shortly after the summit, which is slated to end at 05:15 pm. In Brazil, acting President Michel Temer has no official appointments on that day.
