Softtek has launched a new delivery center in the Brazilian city of Fortaleza as the Mexican technology giant bids to gain a larger share of South America’s biggest information technology services market.

Built in partnership with local university Universidade de Fortaleza (Unifor), the delivery center is also equipped with a state-of-the-art R&D center. This is Softtek’s second delivery center in Brazil, where the Mexican firm is likely to add another 1500 employees over the next three years.

Softtek has a 20-year history in the Brazilian market, providing IT and digital business transformation services to organizations in different industries, especially oil and gas, retail, banking and government.

One of the largest private IT service providers in Latin America, Softtek is regarded as the only non-Indian offshore IT service provider posing serious competition for the U.S. market.

“This center will bring outstanding additional capabilities to help us serve the needs of the vibrant Brazilian market,” said Miguel Saldivar, CEO for Softtek Brazil.

Softtek’s partnership with Unifor is aimed at creating a talent pool, providing internship and early employment opportunities for college students.
