Supergasbras – a company of the SHV Energy group – has earned, for the first time, the Gold Seal in the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program (PBGHG), 2025 Cycle. This initiative by Fundação Getulio Vargas brings together companies for the voluntary reporting of their greenhouse gas emissions. The GHG Protocol is an important tool used worldwide to quantify and manage CO₂ emissions, enabling organizations to identify and develop effective strategies to reduce environmental impacts and contribute to addressing the global climate challenge. In Brazil, the program has been implemented since 2008 by FGV.

“The Gold Seal reflects the seriousness with which we address the management of our emissions and positions us at a high level of maturity and transparency in the market. Receiving the Gold Seal recognition encourages us to continue innovating in solutions that help decarbonize our operations and support the sustainable journey of our partners,” says Priscila Mazieiro (pictured), Sustainability Manager at Supergasbras.

In its published inventory, Supergasbras highlighted several initiatives, such as: fueling 99% of its light vehicle fleet with ethanol, avoiding around 1,400 tons of CO₂ emissions per year; the Sustainable Fleet Project in LPG distribution, with biomethane-powered trucks that reduce emissions by up to 30%, and electric trucks with zero CO₂ emissions; and the development of BioGL (renewable LPG), designed to reduce the product’s carbon footprint and support customers in transitioning to cleaner energy solutions.

With these advances, the company reaffirmed its commitment to leading initiatives that combine energy efficiency, innovation, and environmental responsibility, aligning itself with global best practices in sustainability.

About Supergasbras – Supergasbras is part of the Dutch group SHV Energy, the world’s leader in LPG distribution, with more than 100 years of experience. Our business is to deliver clean and efficient energy to millions of Brazilians, whether at home, in commerce, industry, or agribusiness. With over 79 years of operation in Brazil, we are positioned as one of the country’s leading LPG distributors – marketing around 1.5 million tons of the product per year, with approximately 20% market share. This volume supplies around 10 million households and more than 60,000 B2B customers.

LPG is bottled and delivered in 13 kg, 20 kg, and 45 kg cylinders, or in larger tanks – starting from 190 kg – supplied in bulk with individual metering for condominiums and B2B clients. Operational excellence is ensured by more than 4,000 employees, distributed across 20 units (17 bottling plants – including the largest bottling facility in Latin America, located in Duque de Caxias) and more than 9,000 reseller points.

We have developed a series of projects focused on digital transformation, customer experience, innovation, and sustainable business development. All our cylinders undergo periodic requalification at Qualival, our dedicated in-house unit – a unique feature in the market. We are ISO 9001:2015 certified, which promotes quality in organizational processes, and we are always looking to the future.
