The schedule for the World Energy Cities Partnership (WECP) General Assembly, in October, brings new features. WECP, an entity that gathers 23 of the main oil producing cities worldwide, will bring the event to Rio de Janeiro for the first time, with a special focus on business development. The objective is to potentializa the results of WECP beyond exchange of best practices and technical cooperation, through conferences and networking events.

For that, Rio Negócios is organizing a special edition of Rio Conferences for WECP, which will discuss three main themes: Oil & Gas, Urban Transformation and Research & Development. The conferences will offer discussions on the context of the O&G industry in Brazil and worldwide, with the view of international companies and authorities. Also on the agenda are opportunities in urban transformation, as well as public policy and practical applications for R&D for developing the sector.

The expectation of Rio Negócios is to gather around 400 participants from 150 domestic and international companies related to the oil & gas sector, with a focus on operators, suppliers and representative and academic institutions. There are 16 institutional and commercial delegations already confirmed from the member cities, 10 of them led by mayors.

The annual WECP meeting will take place from October 25 to 28, with events at GE auditorium and Riocentro.

WECP is an institution formed by 23 cities from 19 countries which have energy as an economic vector. Of the represented countries, six are on the top 10 of largest oil producing countries, worldwide.
