Esso Exploration Angola has awarded Welltec a three-year contract for conveyance and well intervention services in block 15 offshore Angola.

The scope includes clean-out and mechanical manipulation.

Welltec says its technologies and services are designed to reduce mobilization time for intervention operations compared with conventional intervention methods using coiled tubing or jointed pipe. Other benefits cited include a reduction in the number of lifting operations, personnel, and footprint.
