The volume of natural gas distributed by SCGÁS to the Santa Catarina market in February reached a daily average of 2.07 million cubic meters. It is the highest average sale in the company's history since the beginning of its operation, in 2000. A new record sales peak of 2.25 million cubic meters was also recorded on 02/21/2020. The volume of distribution last month was 3.96% higher than the same period in 2019 and 8.83% compared to 2018. This is the second record of the Company in 2020, which in January had already recorded the best result in its history for the first month of the year.
The expansion of the number of SCGÁS customers and the reaction of the economy of Santa Catarina - the last IBGE state survey shows that Santa Catarina's GDP grows at a rate of 4% per year, above the national average of 1% - are major factors for successive records. “Natural gas is a versatile energy source that offers several advantages for the productive sectors. These results show that we are on the right path, working to expand the offer more and more to the interior of our State, which has potential new consumer markets, and contributing to the development of Santa Catarina's socioeconomic indexes ”, celebrates SCGÁS president Willian Anderson Lehmkuhl.
