Wood Group Mustang also has been an active participant in the Offshore Technology Conference for the last 15 years. OTC, which will be held May 5-8 at Reliant Park, brings together energy professionals to create a comprehensive, peer-selected technical program, as well as showcases an exhibition of the latest products and services. Wood Group Mustang's booth this year will be No. 5263.
"We see OTC as the perfect place to strengthen our relationships, as well as form new ones with customers, partners and vendors. The energy world comes to Houston each year for OTC, and we see it as a key event for our business in learning about the development and completion of unique industry projects," Lee said.
"OTC is also a critical place for Wood Group Mustang and our peers and customers to come together and discuss the current industry challenges and trends. We can all influence our future together in forums such as OTC."
Rebranding
In January 2014, Mustang's parent company, Wood Group, decided to rebrand itself in order reflect a more integrated approach to the market, as well as demonstrate the size, breadth and strength of the company as a whole, offered as a single face to customers.
"The new logo brings together three strong business segments - Wood Group Mustang, Wood Group PSN and Wood Group Kenny - to offer a more integrated approach to the market," Lee said.
She said that one common brand tells Mustang's customers that the company can contact any of its Wood Group companies for the full services and solutions offered by Wood Group.
"Our new logo demonstrates how our Core Values define us. Our passion for our Core Values is embedded in the very heart of our new logo identity. Very few companies can tie their values to their logo," Lee said.
In its most basic form, the logo is based on the simple letter W. The logo is made up of seven equilateral triangles, each reflecting a Core Value.
For example, safety and assurance (blue) along with integrity (purple) build the foundation on which mustang conducts its business, while people (gold) will continue to be at the center, or the heart, of everything Mustang does.
Social responsibility (green), relationships (light blue), innovation (orange) and financial responsibility (red) complete the triangular shape.
Each triangle is also multi-faceted, representing the teams, sub-teams and individuals who come together to create who the companies are - one Wood Group.
"For people who have known Mustang for a long time, the Blue Horse is the brand we've been known by through the years, reflecting quality, expertise and delivery," Lee said.
"Our logo has changed, but what we stand for has not. The horse will continue to make appearances throughout Wood Group Mustang."
Mustang will continue to provide design, engineering, procurement, project management and construction management services to the global oil and gas industries and continue to look for opportunities for expanded service offerings, as well as geographic locations.
"Our six business lines - offshore, onshore, oil sands, pipeline, process plants and industrial and automation and control - will offer integrated solutions around the world," Lee said. "Today's oil and gas trends will definitely continue to help guide the direction our company moves in, but we will not lose sight of the areas of our core strengths that have always made us strong and garnered our reputation."
