Petrobras hereby announces that for the fourth consecutive month, the Abreu e Lima Refinery (RNEST) achieved record oil processing volume. In August, the refinery processed 3.09 million barrels, equivalent to 99,770 barrels of oil processed per day, 0.6% higher than in July 2016.

As a result, RNEST is already responsible for around 30% of all the S-10 Diesel produced in Brazil, thereby helping reduce Petrobras’ fuel imports. The unit currently delivers 10,000 m3 of this byproduct per day to its target markets, in Brazil’s North and Northeast.

These numbers reinforce Petrobras’ continuous pursuit to increased operational efficiency in its refineries, with excellence in the integrated management of the supply system, contributing to the Company's higher profitability.
