Total has awarded Aker Solutions a $2.34-billion contract for a subsea production system at the newly launched Kaombo project in block 32 offshore Angola.

The order comprises 20 subsea manifolds, 65 vertical subsea wellsets, associated controls, and work-over/tie-in systems. Deliveries are due to start in 2Q 2015.

Kaombo is around 150 km (93 mi) offshore.

Aker Solutions has formed a joint venture with Angolan company Prodiaman Oil Services to fulfill local content requirements both for this and other subsea projects off Angola.
