Today (1/7) the announcement of the 2020 edition of the ANP Technological Innovation Award was published. There are five award categories, two with unpublished themes: "Reduction of Environmental Impacts and Renewable Energies" and "Submarine Technologies". The application deadline starts today and runs until 7/10/2020.

Each registered project result can compete in only one category. The participation of results of winning projects in previous editions of the ANP Technological Innovation Award is prohibited.

The ANP Technological Innovation Award aims to recognize and reward the results associated with research, development and innovation (RD&I) projects, which represent technological innovation of interest to the oil, natural gas and biofuels sector, developed in Brazil by research institutions accredited by ANP, Brazilian companies and oil companies, with total or partial use of resources of the PD&I Clause present in the exploration and production (E&P) contracts.

Criteria for judgment 

The Judging Committee will evaluate the results of the projects and indicate the finalists and winners of each category, according to the following criteria: originality, relevance, applicability and functionality, with the scientific and technological production as a tiebreaker.

Personalities 

There will be an award for "Academy Personality". Its objective is to recognize and reward an individual related to research institutions, who has generated a relevant contribution to research and development of interest to the sector.

The edition will also have an award for "Industry Personality". Its objective is to recognize and reward an individual related to the industry, who has generated a relevant contribution to innovation of interest to the sector.

Awards 

The winners of each category, of the academy's personality and of the industry's personality, will be awarded a winner's trophy and certificates attesting their condition of winner in the award. The other finalists will be awarded finalists' trophies and certificates attesting to their status as finalists in the awards.
