Because of the large number of requests, the date for scheduling the ANP interest query for 16 areas with marginal accumulations was postponed to May 4, and its realization was extended until the 18th of this month. But the expressions of interest in the areas should be formalized until the 20th of May. The deadline previously set for scheduling would end on 29 April and the consultation period on 13 May. And the deadline for expressions of interest was scheduled for May 19.

The ANP is undergoing consultation of interest 16 areas containing marginal accumulations located in the onshore basins of Recôncavo (6), Potiguar (6) and Holy Spirit (4). The areas that have received expressions of interest valid, and that present sustained viability in environmental decision issued by the competent agency, will be suggested by the Agency to the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) to bid. Bids areas with marginal accumulations aim to increase the participation of small and medium enterprises (ANP Resolution No. 32/2014) in the exploration, development and production of oil and natural gas, as foreseen in the CNPE Resolution No. 1/2013.
