The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), in partnership with the Energy Research Company (EPE) and the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Firjan), structured in a single document the most relevant projects involving oil and natural gas able to receive private investments.

There are 61 opportunities that cover onshore and offshore oil and gas exploration concessions, sale of participation in exploratory fields, construction of fertilizer, lubricant and natural gas plants, sale of refineries, construction of oil derivatives distribution terminals and duplication and construction of new oil and gas pipelines.

The portfolio provides foreign and national investors with reliable, systematized and high-level information about the projects. It also provides direct contact for each project and seeks to promote transparent relationships between public and private institutions. The idea is to transform the document into a fast track to numerous investment opportunities offered in Brazil that are relevant to the development of the oil and gas sector and its supply chain.

The portfolio includes opportunities contained in Petrobras' divestment plan, such as the sale of the Abreu e Lima refineries (RNEST, Pernambuco), Presidente Getúlio Vargas (Repar, Paraná), Alberto Pasqualini (Refap, Rio Grande do Sul), Gabriel Passos ( Regap, Minas Gerais) and Lubricants and Derivatives of the Northeast (Lubnor, Ceará). The sale of the assets will be made after analyzing the proposals offered to Petrobras, responsible for the transaction. Also included is the sale of interest in hundreds of onshore fields and offshore oil and natural gas exploration and production areas.

Opportunities for investment in infrastructure are listed in the document prepared by ApexBrasil, such as the installation of reception and distribution terminals for derivatives such as gasoline, diesel and kerosene in the cities of Londrina (PR), Presidente Prudente (SP), Campo Grande (MS) , Rondonópolis (MT) and Cuiabá (MT). Construction of pipelines connecting the interior of Paraná and the interior of Santa Catarina, another connecting terminals in Minas Gerais and Mato Grosso and another connecting the interior of Paraná with the metropolitan region of Cuiabá (MT) are projects selected for the portfolio, as well as a pipeline connecting São Carlos (SP) to Brasília (DF).

According to the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), Brazil currently occupies the eighth position among the world's largest oil producers. In 2021, the country produced 2.9 million barrels per day and intends to increase production to more than 5 million by 2030. According to projections by the International Energy Agency released by the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP), Brazil appears in the top 4 among the countries with the highest growth in oil production in the period 2020-2030. Therefore, in addition to being recognized as one of the largest providers of food security on the planet, the Brazilian government aims to make the country a notable guarantor of energy security, since it has one of the cleanest energy matrices in the world, is a producer of biofuels and has oil reserves to be explored in its territory. In the export ranking, Brazil is among the 10 largest in the world. Last year, it exported 483 million barrels, which corresponds to 45% of national production.

The oil, gas and biofuels sector is one of the priorities of ApexBrasil, coordinator of the Brasil Petroleum Partnerships (BPP), a program for the international promotion of the segment, whose international scenario is promising for the Brazilian industry. The initiative aims to facilitate partnerships between Brazilian and foreign companies in the sector, with the aim of attracting investment to Brazil and promoting the integration of the Brazilian oil industry into global supply chains. Currently, it serves 70 national and foreign companies interested in investing in Brazil or abroad.
