On Monday, the first day of ROG.e, Firjan SENAI and Sebrae Rio held the 30th edition of the Supplier Opportunities Network Program, known as RdO Fornecedores. The initiative connects major players in the oil, gas, maritime, and energy industries with supplier companies across the production chain, including machinery and equipment manufacturers and service providers for these markets. The commemorative edition brings together nine anchor companies with procurement needs: Petrobras, Transpetro, PRIO, Braskem, Equinor, MODEC, Seatrium, TBG, and Ocyan.
According to the federation, the importance of participating in RdO Fornecedores lies in the opportunity for suppliers to establish direct relationships with major industry buyers. “This is an opportunity for small and medium-sized companies in Rio de Janeiro’s and Brazil’s supply chains to learn about available opportunities and engage with each major player. This contributes to generating contracts for Rio de Janeiro’s business community and strengthening the state’s industrial presence in the oil, gas, energy, and maritime markets,” highlights Karine Fragoso (picture), General Manager of Oil, Gas, Energy, and Maritime Industries at Firjan.
Presentations by the participating companies, along with a series of special lectures and meetings at question-and-answer tables, are taking place in a dedicated RdO Fornecedores area in Pavilion 5 of the trade fair. On the first day, the second edition of the Supplier Opportunities Network Handbook — Oil, Gas, Energy, and Maritime Industries: Special Edition for Micro and Small Businesses was also launched.
“The publication is a guide to help companies position themselves as market suppliers, offering tips and information to support their development journey. It also serves as a work agenda for planning the coming year, 2027. In this way, Firjan SENAI SESI, in partnership with Sebrae Rio, is increasingly positioning itself as a strategic partner for this market, strengthening business relationships and opportunities during and after ROG.e,” says Thiago Valejo, Project Manager for Oil, Gas, Energy, and Maritime Industries at the federation.
Over the past four years, RdO Fornecedores has held 29 editions, promoting qualified connections between buyers and suppliers. Approximately 40 anchor companies and more than 2,300 suppliers have participated. More than 2,000 opportunities have been presented through over 3,000 business meetings.
This year, Firjan’s RdO Fornecedores expanded beyond the borders of Rio de Janeiro, focusing on international opportunities at OTC Houston and in Brazil’s Equatorial Margin region in the north of the country.
Throughout the four-day trade fair, from September 21 to 24, Firjan SENAI SESI will also have a booth in Pavilion 4 to assist Brazilian and international companies interested in investing in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
As this is a global market and an international event, the federation will launch a publication aimed at international audiences entitled Rio de Janeiro Core Markets Overview – Executive Guide for Oil, Gas, Energy, Maritime, Petrochemical and Fertilizers. The publication provides an overview of the strategic markets for Rio de Janeiro.
The document presents an overview of each of the state’s target markets, along with key data and the main topics under discussion. The study is intended to support efforts to attract companies from abroad to Rio de Janeiro.
“ROG.e highlights the strategic importance of the energy market for the development of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil. The state accounts for approximately 65% of investments in energy projects and is responsible for around 88% of national oil production, giving Rio de Janeiro a distinctive position in this agenda. Strengthening this supply chain means multiplying the power of energy throughout Rio de Janeiro’s economy and helping to increase Brazil’s competitiveness,” says Alexandre Reis, Executive Operations Director of the Firjan System.
According to Firjan’s study Overview of Investments in the State of Rio de Janeiro 2026–2028, the largest share of ongoing investments—79.7%—is concentrated in the energy market, totaling R$ 215 billion during the period. Of this amount, R$ 198.6 billion comes from the oil and gas market. In addition, foreign participation in energy investments in the state amounts to R$ 95.34 billion.
The oil and natural gas market, with investments by companies such as Petrobras, Shell, and Equinor in exploration and production—including the construction of offshore production units for operations in fields located in Rio de Janeiro—is receiving the largest volume of resources.Highlights include the production system and gas pipeline for the Raia project, led by Equinor; the installation of a production system in the Búzios field; and the HISEP project in Mero, among others.

In addition, a plant for the production of derivatives, including lubricants, is being built at the Boaventura Energy Complex in Itaboraí.
In the electricity sector, highlights include the program to extend the operating life of Angra 1. Potential investments include the construction of the Angra 3 nuclear power plant, offshore wind projects in northern Rio de Janeiro, the installation of thermoelectric power plants, and investments in port terminals.
