With the completion of the works for the new custody transfer station (ETC), in Mata de São João, and the implementation of a 15 km long distribution pipeline, from that municipality to Dias D'Ávila, Bahiagás begins to receive the gas Alvopetro's natural This is a milestone in the search for new energy suppliers at more competitive prices.

The gas acquired by Bahiagás from Alvopetro is already being processed in the natural gas processing unit (UPGN) recently built by the new supplier, in the Caburé Field (Recôncavo Basin). This is the first unit of its kind in the country implemented by a private company. From there, the energy is supplied to the Bahiagás ETC, from where it will be distributed to the market. As soon as the supply started, the Bahian company received a flow of 320,000 m³ / day of natural gas, and the new projects concluded have the capacity to move 2 million m³ / day of the energy source.

“This is a historic moment for Bahiagás, because we start to acquire a significant volume from another supplier, with more competitive conditions and we can pass it on to the market in the same way. And this contract with Alvopetro will also allow the expansion of customer service along the route of the gas pipeline ”, highlights the Market and After-sales manager, Makyo Felix.

The natural gas purchase and sale contract, signed by Bahiagás and Alvopetro in 2018, provides for the supply of up to 500,000 m³ / day. For the construction of the ETC and the gas pipeline, the Company invested approximately R $ 24 million.

Alvopetro also built a flow pipeline between the municipalities of Camaçari and Mata de São João, in addition to the UPGN to guarantee the quality of the gas delivered, according to ANP regulations.

“The signing of the contract with Alvopetro was one of the important steps that Bahiagás took in the search for diversification of its suppliers and, consequently, for more competitive prices for the acquisition of natural gas. With this, the Company intends to be able to offer better commercial conditions to the market ”, says the CEO of Bahiagás, Luiz Gavazza.
