Blue Water has been appointed agents for A2SEA for the offshore projects Borkum Riffgrund and Westermost Rough. Both offshore wind parks are owned by DONG Energy. A2SEA will load the Siemens turbines in Esbjerg and install them respectively in German and UK waters.
“We are very proud that A2SEA has decided to appoint Blue Water as agents for these two projects. At the moment, our agency team is preparing the mobilisation scopes and various project team requirements. We have worked with A2SEA many times previously and latest on the wind parks Anholt and West of Duddon Sands where the turbines was shipped out of Greena and Belfast respectively. We are looking forward to yet another successful project”, says Head of Sales and Development Wind, Jacob Kjærgaard.
Borkum Riffgrund is expected to commence in July 2014 with the vessel SEA INSTALLER which installs 77 turbines, and Westermost Rough will according to plan commence in July 2014 with the new build SEA CHALLENGER which will install 35 turbines. Until recently, A2SEA’s fleet of vessels also included SEA ENERGY which was the first purpose re-build installation vessel for offshore wind – the vessel performed the installation of Horns Rev I in 2002. SEA ENERGY was sold earlier this year and Blue Water would like to wish her a fair wind in the future and thank her and her crew for many good hours and projects.
