T&B Petroleum/ANP Press Office
In June 2017 oil production in the pre-salt totaled 1,352,957 barrels of oil per day, surpassing he post-salt, which totaled 1,321,813 bbl / d. Overall, oil production in Brazil was 2.675 million barrels per day (bbl / d), a growth of 0.8% in comparison with the previous month and 4.5% in relation to the same month in 2016.
The production of natural gas in Brazil was 111 million cubic meters per day (m³ / d), surpassing 7.4% in the same month in 2016 and 6.1% in May. Total oil and natural gas production in the country was approximately 3.37 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe / d).
The bulletin (in portuguese) is available at http://www.anp.gov.br/wwwanp/publicacoes/boletins-anp/2395-bulletin-mensal-to-producao-de-petroleo-e-gas-natural.
Pre-salt
Pre-salt production in June came from 77 wells and totaled 1.686 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, an increase of 6.4% over the previous month. Pre-salt production in June corresponded to approximately 49.6% of Brazilian oil and gas production.
The production of natural gas in the pre-salt was approximately 53 million cubic meters per day. The "pre-salt" wells are those whose production is carried out in the geological horizon called pre-salt, in fields located in the area defined in section IV of caput of article 2 of Law 12,351 / 2010.
Gas Burning
The use of natural gas in the month reached 95.9%. The gas flaring in June was 4.5 million cubic meters per day, an increase of 21.6% compared to the previous month and 27.7% compared to the same month in 2016. The increase was due to beginning of the commissioning of the platform P-66, in the field of Lula.
Producer Fields
The Lula field, in the Santos Basin, was the largest producer of oil and natural gas. It produced, on average, 763 thousand bbl / d of oil and 33.6 million m³ / d of natural gas.
Maritime fields produced 95.3% of oil and 80.8% of natural gas. The production took place in 8,220 wells, being 744 seafarers and 7,476 terrestrial. The fields operated by Petrobras produced 94.1% of the oil and natural gas.
Estreito, in the Potiguar Basin, had the largest number of producing wells: 1,109. Dom João Mar, in the Recôncavo Basin, was the maritime field with the largest number of producing countries: 61.
The FPSO Cidade de Mangaratiba, located in the Lula field, produced, through 7 interconnected wells, 188,700 boe / d and was the UEP (Stationary Production Unit) with the highest production.
Other information
In June 2017, 300 concessions, operated by 25 companies, were responsible for domestic production. Of these, 79 are maritime concessions and 221 are terrestrial. It should be noted that, of the total of the production concessions, one is in exploratory activity and produces through a Long-Term Test (TLD), and another seven are related to contracts in areas containing marginal accumulations.
The average API grade was 26.8, with 34.4% of the production considered light oil (> = 31 ° API), 50.5% medium oil (> = 22 API and <31 API) and 15.1% oil Heavy (<22 API).
The mature terrestrial basins (fields / long-term tests of the Espírito Santo, Potiguar, Recôncavo, Sergipe and Alagoas basins) produced 130.8 thousand boe/d, being 105.8 thousand bbl/d of oil and 4 million m³/d of natural gas. Of this total, 125.6 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day were produced by Petrobras and 5,2 thousand boe/d for concessions not operated by Petrobras, of which 358 boe/d in Alagoas, 2,206 boe/d in Bahia, 67 boe/d in Espírito Santo, 2,408 boe/d in Rio Grande do Norte and 200 boe/d in Sergipe.
