Brazil's federal public debt increased from $1.04 trillion to $1.07 trillion in June—up 3.22% from May in nominal values. The figures were published in the Monthly Report on the Public Debt, released today (Jul 24) by the National Treasury.

Brazilian government bonds added up to $23.7 billion in June, with $1.2 billion retrieved.

Brazil's internal bond debt was expanded by 3.31%, going from $1.001 trillion to $1.034 trillion.

The country's external debt reported a 0.91% increase from May, closing out June at $37.48 billion. Of this total, $33.98 billion stem from bond debt, and $3.5 billion from contractual debt.

The change in indebtedness may take place through bonds offered in auctions, online or in person. Variation can also occur after loan contracts are signed.
