These investments were reported by 27,014 individuals and 3,559 businesses. Brazil's direct investment going into the productive sector of the economy totaled $295.382 billion in 2013 compared to $266.252 billion in 2012.
Securities and fixed income also reported increases amounting to $25.437 billion in investment, whereas $16.930 billion was invested in shares. In 2012, these numbers were $22.124 billion and $13.367 billion respectively.
