Comgás, the largest piped gas distributor in Latin America, launched a public call on April 28 to contract natural gas supply in order to serve its captive market consumers, with the goal of increasing flexibility and competitiveness.

Natural gas

Natural gas offers numerous benefits. In addition to providing a continuous and efficient supply, it is considered safe due to its lighter-than-air properties, allowing it to dissipate easily in the event of a leak. It also eliminates the need for storage and transportation in canisters or cylinders, reducing the risk of accidents and enhancing overall safety, especially in residential and commercial buildings. Within its concession area, Comgás provides 24/7 emergency support through its service channels and only charges for consumption after use.

About Comgás
Comgás operates over 23,000 kilometers of piped gas distribution network across 96 municipalities, supplying the industrial, commercial, residential, and automotive sectors. It also enables cogeneration projects and provides gas for thermoelectric power plants. The company serves more than 2.6 million customers in its concession area in the state of São Paulo, which includes the São Paulo Metropolitan Region, the Campinas Administrative Region, the Baixada Santista, and the Vale do Paraíba.
