Companhia Pernambucana de Gás - Copergás defined its investment plan for the period 2020-2024, when R $ 323 million will be allocated to the expansion and interconnection of the distribution network. Among the projects scheduled for 2020, the expansion to the municipality of Ipojuca, including the beaches of Porto de Galinhas and Muro alto, is one of the highlights. In addition to industrial customers, Copergás is expected to reach 42,000 new consumers throughout the state by 2024, mainly in the residential and commercial segment. The vehicle segment also stands out, with 18 new gas stations in the state in 2020. Currently, 104,000 users are served by the company's services in their homes, businesses, industries, vehicles and in power generation.

“The project portfolio for the next 5 years considers the opportunities identified at this time. As new potentials continue, we will continually add to the planning, seeking to benefit new regions with natural gas distribution infrastructure and all the advantages that the product brings with it, ”explains Copergás' commercial technical director, Fabrício Bomtempo.

The commercial director also highlights the benefits that the expansion of distribution will bring to the population of Caruaru: “In 2020, two new CNG (vehicular natural gas) stations will be inaugurated in Caruaru, regulating the distribution of vehicular gas in the region, which Together with the urban network to be built, it will serve homes and businesses benefiting several users in the region. ”

In 2019, Copergás interconnected 7.5 thousand new customers, from all segments served by the company, and built more than 50 kilometers of distribution network. The company achieved a significant 7% increase in the daily distribution of natural gas to the non-thermoelectric market, reaching historical records in the industrial and vehicular segments in April and December 2019, respectively.
