In the face of the coronavirus pandemic many companies - mainly small and medium - are facing many financial difficulties. Some exports were interrupted, shopping malls are closed, trips were canceled and businesses in other segments were also forced to lower their doors for some time, affecting companies in various branches.

In a situation like this, without being able to maintain activities for public health reasons, many are concerned about the risk of dismissal. The unemployment rate released before the pandemic was 11.8% and this rate is likely to increase in the coming months. Some companies have already started to lay off employees because of the crisis, but others are still looking for alternatives to get through this crisis without having to dismiss their workers.

"We are making every effort not to fire anyone, part of the employees went on vacation, especially those who are part of the operational team, as they are people who work most of the time on the streets and are exposed to the risks of contamination. It was also implemented a work schedule with employees of the administrative area and the corporate part and all those who can do their work at home are in the home office ", explains Guy Peixoto Neto, mentor of young entrepreneurship and founder of Operalog Logística, the company where these measures were taken .

The government pointed out some measures that can help companies to avoid layoffs and even a possible bankruptcy, R $ 51 billion were announced for salary supplementation, in case the company reduces employees' wages and working hours and R $ 40 billion in credit for financing the company. payroll.

Despite the determinations adopted by the government, Guy advises entrepreneurs to reduce costs in their businesses: "Here we have reduced the maximum number of trips for now and we plan to not travel until the end of the year. With this, we have reduced costs with tickets, accommodation, car rental, among others ".

The businessman also says that he has put in place some changes that the government is temporarily allowing, such as postponing the payment of FGTS in April, March and June and paying a third of the vacation along with the thirteenth.

"We are also in contact with the banks in order not to pay the financing for the next six months and thus gain a little cash flow now", explains the entrepreneur.

For those who are individual microentrepreneurs registered at Simples Nacional, in addition to the R $ 600 announced, the payment of the monthly MEI fee for the months of March, April and May were postponed to October, November and December, respectively. The measure may help small self-employed entrepreneurs at this time of crisis.
