T&B Petroleum/Press Office ANP
From today (05/25), the ANP will make available the Dynamic Panel of the Exploration Phase, a new interactive way of visualizing the data related to the first phase of the oil and natural gas exploration contracts. The data available on the Panel are updated daily, allowing the user to follow, almost in real time, the evolution of the blocks and contracts throughout the exploration phase.
The exploration phase begins with the signing of the contract. In it, the areas explored are called blocks, and the companies carry out studies and activities (such as seismic surveys and drilling of wells) to detect the presence of oil and / or natural gas in sufficient quantity to make their extraction economically viable. If so, the company submits a declaration of commerciality to the ANP and the block (or part of it) becomes a producing field, starting the production phase. If not, the company can return the block (or part of it) to the ANP.
In line with the transparency policy adopted by the ANP, the Panel is an analysis tool for regulated agents, government agencies, universities and research institutions, as well as society in general. Through graphs, tables and application of filters, the Dynamic Panel of the Exploration Phase will allow the user to access the data in an easy and agile way, with the possibility of exporting them.
The Panel presents different data associated with the blocks under contract, consolidating information on signing the contracts and on the stages of the Minimum Exploratory Program - PEM (set of activities that must be performed by the company during the exploration phase), Discovery Assessment and Declaration of Commerciality.
The panel is divided into sections: Blocks under Contract, which presents an overview of the exploration phase, including area, location, rounds, operators, stage and the status of the blocks; Exploratory Wells, which provides data on wells located in exploratory blocks, with drilling beginning in 2019; Hydrocarbon Evidence, with information on discovery notifications from 2019; Discovery Assessment Plans - PADs (plans that contain the activities for assessing the discovery and execution schedule), with data on the plans in progress; and Declarations of Commerciality, which provides quantitative, distribution by basins, date of declaration, blocks and associated PADs, as well as the name of the declared commercial areas (fields) as of 2019. The Panel also presents an information session, with concepts and assumptions used in the elaboration of the tool.

The ANP also has panels with data on oil and gas production and topics related to the exploration and production (E&P) phases, such as local content and operational safety. Click here to see all the dynamic E&P panels.
