According to Bento Albuquerque, the new Minister of Mines and Energy, the biggest change in the oil segment will be the expansion of the competencies of the National Council for Energy Policy (CNPE) to define the exploitation regimes of the pre-salt areas and , together with the National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANP), will present the multiyear calendar of auctions.

"We will improve production sharing legislation in order to provide greater competitiveness in the environment of exploration and production, greater plurality of investors, lower implementation costs for the Union and consequently more investments and economic and social returns," he said.

In relation to the gas sector, Bento Albuquerque said he will work on diversifying supply, ensuring transparency and free access to transportation follow-up and regulation of the free market with national standards.
