A leader in offshore drilling in Brazil, Foresea will be present – as sponsor and speaker – at the V Well Operational Safety Workshop (WSOP), which starts this Tuesday (August 11), in Macaé, in the Northern Fluminense region. The event is promoted by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE Macaé Section) and runs through August 12. This year, the debate will focus on how companies should turn safety into a business decision, connecting strategy, people and the reality of operations.

On the first day of the event, Foresea's Operations Director, Renato Costa, and the company's Executive Quality Manager, Consuelo Cortes, will lead the session "From Planned Work to Actual Work", alongside Petrobras' Wells Safety and Integrity Manager, Ana Flávia Teixeira. The session will feature five presentations, one of which will be given by Foresea's Executive Sustainability Manager, Carlos Aberto Junior, who will discuss examples of the challenges that arise between what is planned and what is actually executed.

In the afternoon, the session "The Voice of Operations" will feature Emanuel Isaac, Foresea's Reliability and Integrity Manager, and Carla Malafaia, commander on the Norbe IX, sharing her experience as frontline offshore leadership. The Executive Manager of New Business and Innovation, Cristiano Xavier, will act as chair in the session "People, Communication and Safety Culture – Turning procedures into behaviors". In the same session, Foresea's Wells Construction and Subsea Manager, Osiel Barreto, will address communication between onshore and onboard teams and will talk about Foresea's Decision Support Center (DSC).

On Wednesday (12), João Guandalin, Innovation and New Business Manager at Foresea, will attend the session discussing Integration and Operational Safety.

WSOP is one of the most relevant technical events on safety in the offshore drilling sector and brings together leaders to share experiences. The meeting aims to promote debates on technological innovations and best management practices in the offshore sector.
