FPSO Cidade de Ilhabela arrives in Brazil

The FPSO Cidade de Ilhabela , floating production , storage and offloading of oil and gas programmed to operate in Sapinhoá field in the Santos Basin , arrived at Brasa shipyard in Niterói ( RJ ) for the completion of lifting operations and integration of 13 modules of its processing plant . The new platform was converted from an oil tanker in CXG shipyard in China.
The work of modules integrating will be executed by the Brasa shipyard in partnership with SBM Offshore and Synergy Group. The shipyard is also responsible for the construction of 13 of the 18 modules of the processing plant of the FPSO.

The FPSO Cidade de Ilhabela, floating production, storage and offloading of oil and gas, programmed to operate in Sapinhoá field in the Santos Basin, arrived at Brasa shipyard in Niterói (RJ) for the completion of lifting operations and integration of 13 modules of its processing plant. The new platform was converted from an oil tanker in CXG shipyard in China. The work of modules integrating will be executed by the Brasa shipyard in partnership with SBM Offshore and Synergy Group. The shipyard is also responsible for the construction of 13 of the 18 modules of the processing plant of the FPSO.

 

The platform, which has the capacity to store up to 1.6 million barrels of oil, due to come into operation in the second half of 2014. Installed depth of 2,140 meters, the FPSO will have capacity to process up to 150,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil daily and compress 6 million cubic meters of gas. The FPSO Cidade de Ilhabela arrived in Brazil on December 29 and is berthed at Brasa shipyard since January 12.

 

The consortium that owns the concession Sapinhoá field, in the BM-S-9 block is operated by Petrobras (45%), in partnership with BG E&P Brazil (30%) and Repsol Sinopec Brazil (25%). The FPSO Cidade de Ilhabela was chartered to the consortium SBM/QGOG (Queiroz Galvao Oleo e Gas), which will also be responsible for the operation of the unit.
