Fuel sales in the Brazilian market in 2013 totaled 136.210 billion liters, representing an increase of 5.0% compared to 129.677 billion liters recorded in 2012. The data was released today (12) in the IX Seminar on Evaluation of Derivatives Markets Oil and Biofuels of the Brazilian Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), held at the headquarters of the Agency, in Rio de Janeiro.
There was a 4.6% increase in sales of diesel in the comparison between 2012 and 2013, from 55,900 billion liters to 58.489 billion liters. The increase in sales of biodiesel was 5.9%, from 2.762 billion liters in 2012 to 2.924 billion liters in 2013.
The marketing of gasoline C was 41.365 billion liters, an increase of 4.2% compared to 39.698 billion liters for 2012. With increasing content of added anhydrous ethanol to gasoline A (for the composition of gasoline sold to consumers C) 20% to 25% in May 2013, the demand for automotive anhydrous ethanol increased 30.2%.
Furthermore, ethanol consumption, which had been 9,850 billion liters in 2012, rose to 10.788 billion liters in 2013, equivalent to a growth of 9.5%. The total ethanol (sum of anhydrous and hydrated) expanded by 18.8% in 2013 compared to 2012, from 17,790 billion liters to 21.129 billion liters.
Also, according to data released by the ANP, sales of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) increased by 2.7%, from 12.926 billion liters to 13.276 billion liters. The aviation kerosene (jet fuel) had reduced their marketing 0.9% from 7.292 billion to 7.225 billion liters liters. The fuel oil was high 26.8% from 3.934 billion liters to 4,990 billion liters. The natural gas vehicle (NGV) finally fell to 3.7% of the volume sold, from 5,320 million m³ / day to 5.125 million m³ / day.
