Spain's Gamesa will supply wind turbines totaling 214MW to nine Brazilian wind farms under agreements struck with local developers Companhia de Energias Renováveis (CER) and Eletrosul.

The contracts call for the supply and installation of 166MW for CER and 48MW for Eletrosul, Gamesa said in a statement.

The CER deal will see the Basque firm supply 83 turbines for six farms at the Xique-Xique II complex in Brazil's northeastern state of Bahia. Auctioned last year, the complex is due online in 2018.

For Eletrosul, a subsidiary of Brazil's state-run power conglomerate Eletrobras, Gamesa will provide 24 turbines for the Cerro Chato complex in Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil. The units are expected to be delivered by December.

Gamesa said that the new contracts take the company's firm orders in Brazil to almost 2GW.

Tuesday's announcement comes less than a week after Gamesa signed a deal to supply 100MW to an unnamed Mexican wind developer.
