Gamesa Corp. Tecnologica SA, Spain’s biggest wind turbine maker, will supply 34 wind turbines to Guirapa wind complex in northeastern Brazil.

Guirapa, a joint venture between energy developer Sequoia Energia and utility Cia. Hidroeletrica do Sao Francisco, will receive the equipment for a total 68 megawatts of capacity, Gamesa said today on its website.

Gamesa is the second largest wind turbine supplier in Brazil with a 16 percent share of the market, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance. With the deals announced today, the Zamudio, Spain-based company has won orders for the supply of more than 700 megawatts in Brazil.

Last week, Gamesa agreed to supply equipment with 231 megawatts of capacity to Brazil’s CPFL Energias Renovaveis SA.

Press officials for Gamesa and Sequoia Energia didn’t immediately respond to phone and e-mail requests for comment.
