Guirapa, a joint venture between energy developer Sequoia Energia and utility Cia. Hidroeletrica do Sao Francisco, will receive the equipment for a total 68 megawatts of capacity, Gamesa said today on its website.
Gamesa is the second largest wind turbine supplier in Brazil with a 16 percent share of the market, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance. With the deals announced today, the Zamudio, Spain-based company has won orders for the supply of more than 700 megawatts in Brazil.
Last week, Gamesa agreed to supply equipment with 231 megawatts of capacity to Brazil’s CPFL Energias Renovaveis SA.
