Seeking to enhance its service capabilities in key markets, GE Oil & Gas (NYSE: GE) today announced GDF SUEZ subsidiary Cofely Fabricom has become the first authorized service center (ASC) for GE Oil & Gas in Europe, focusing on maintenance support to GE downstream industrial customers in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
Effective January 2014, the three-year agreement aims to improve GE’s local customer services for its equipment customers in the region by providing spare parts, regular maintenance, updates and repairs that promote customer energy savings and a more reliable, sustainable production capacity.
Both organizations see the potential to further expand their collaboration in other markets and regions. The pact builds on the existing strong working relationship between the companies.
“This agreement creates the first official ASC for GE but this is not the first contract between us. A specialized team within Cofely Fabricom was created to meet GE’s requirements. They know the total commitment of our workforce and trust our experience in this field. This agreement means a great deal to us while also offering improved service and sustainable solutions for GE’s clients,” said Xavier Sinéchal, CEO of Cofely Benelux.
“Given Cofely Fabricom’s experience and capabilities in the Benelux region, they are an ideal partner to entrust with our local customer services mission. This is one of many examples of a constructive collaboration we have developed with GDF SUEZ and its subsidiaries. With this agreement, we can focus on our other core business activities in the region,” said Girish Saligram, leader of Downstream Products and Services, GE Oil & Gas.
The Cofely Fabricom ASC pact also supports the strategic growth goals of GE’s newly launched Downstream Technology Solutions business, which was created to focus exclusively on the needs of GE’s downstream, industrial and distributed gas customers.
