Goldwind has expanded its operations in Brazil and strengthened its presence in Bahia through investments covering industrial production, professional training, and technological innovation in the wind energy sector. In an interview with TN Petróleo, the company’s vice president, Roberto Veiga (photo), detailed the main developments and the next steps for the company in the state.

One of the highlights is the implementation of a factory in Camaçari, an initiative that marks the consolidation of the company’s production structure in Bahia and contributes to strengthening the local industrial chain. “We have already implemented a factory in Camaçari, here in Bahia, and brought important international companies, such as Sinoma, which also manufactures wind bases in the city,” he said.

Workforce training and strengthening of the local supply chain

The company’s strategy is also centered on developing human capital and increasing the participation of local suppliers. According to Veiga, the company’s operations are structured around three fundamental pillars: professional qualification, innovation, and development of the production chain.

“We have been promoting three important pillars: workforce training, together with SENAI and SENAI Cimatec; the development of technologies with Cimatec; and also the development of service suppliers and part of our product,” he highlighted.

According to the executive, this set of actions has been implemented over the past year, focusing on building a more integrated and competitive industrial environment in the state.

Energy storage marks a new milestone

Among upcoming investments, Goldwind is preparing to advance in an area still incipient in Brazil: battery energy storage. The project plans the installation of a BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) in the municipality of Tanque Novo, in the interior of Bahia.

“We are now getting ready to implement the first BESS in Tanque Novo, with the participation of SENAI Cimatec in this implementation, which is a pioneer in Brazil,” Veiga emphasized.

The initiative is considered strategic for the sector, as it enables greater flexibility in the use of energy generated from renewable sources, contributing to the stability and efficiency of the electrical system.
