The new ROG.e, one of the world’s largest energy events, was officially launched this Wednesday, October 8, during an exclusive event held at Roxy Dinner, in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, with the presence of executives, associates, and the press, organized by the Brazilian Petroleum and Gas Institute (IBP). ROG.e 2026 marks the beginning of a new era for Brazil’s energy sector, returning to Riocentro with the goal of becoming the largest energy festival on the planet.

The next edition will take place from September 21 to 24, 2026, in a format designed to go beyond being one of the biggest industry events — aiming to deliver an immersive experience for participants. ROG.e will combine entertainment, live performances, and networking spaces with the strategic discussions that have defined the event for decades.

The return to Riocentro will allow for significant expansion, with the total area exceeding 95,000 m². The event is expected to welcome 75,000 participants and 650 exhibiting companies, representing a 40% increase in exhibition space. This scale reflects the strength of Brazil’s oil and gas sector, which foresees investments of over US$165 billion in the country and the maintenance of nearly 400,000 jobs per year until 2034.

Roberto Ardenghy, President of IBP, highlighted the strategic evolution of the event: “Since 2024, ROG.e has embraced all forms of energy to lead the conversation about the future. For 2026, our goal is to take a step further, transforming the event into a global leadership platform. We will bring together the world’s top experts to discuss crucial topics such as energy transition, new exploratory frontiers, and sustainable fuels, consolidating Rio de Janeiro as the energy capital of the world.”

The transformation also represents a major boost for the city. ROG.e 2026 will be integrated with dozens of parallel, social, and sports events, expected to drive business tourism and result in high hotel occupancy rates.

Nelson Narciso Filho, Chair of the Organizing Committee and a specialist with over 40 years of experience in the energy sector, emphasized the high technical quality of the Congress, which will gather leading industry names from Brazil and around the world in panels, debates, and presentations of innovative projects and solutions for energy evolution. “The Organizing Committee is composed of a diverse and solid group of market experts who are working with great energy to build a comprehensive program that addresses the main challenges of our sector, from downstream to upstream,” said Nelson, announcing that for the first time, Supply Chain will have a prominent space in the ROG.e agenda. “The energy industry’s supply chain is increasingly relevant to companies’ strategies, and this will also be reflected in our program,” he added.

Victor Montenegro, IBP’s Executive Events Manager, emphasized the new experience being designed for participants: “We are creating much more than a Congress and Exhibition — we are creating a Festival of Energy. Returning to Riocentro gives us more space for the audience and, consequently, more connections. We’ll have a new approach featuring live shows, entertainment areas, and a dedicated transport system to ensure easy access — delivering a complete and memorable experience for participants and a very positive impact for the city of Rio.”

The success of this new approach is already reflected in the numbers: in just three weeks of sales, 52% of the total exhibition area has already been booked. Additionally, five international pavilions (Norway, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Spain) and seven sponsors are already confirmed, signaling the strong global market support for the new positioning of ROG.e.
