III Brazilian Women in Energy Congress takes place today in São Paulo

With a strong lineup, the event's thematic program promises to explore the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition from a female perspective.

Today,  the Renaissance Hotel in São Paulo will host the third edition of the Brazilian Women in Energy Congress. The event stands out for bringing together important female leaders to discuss energy transition and sustainability in Brazil, with a diverse and high-level program.

The congress will open with a keynote speech by Solange Ribeiro, Vice President of Neoenergia and Vice-Chair of the UN Global Compact, who will address "Energy Transition: Opportunities and Challenges for Brazil." Following that, Tânia Cosentino, President of Microsoft Brazil, and Clarice Romariz, Vice President of Operations at Networks Americas and President of Engie, will present their views on innovation and technological impact in the energy sector.

Throughout the event, various panels will explore key topics for the future of the sector. A highlight is the panel "Sustainability: The Heart of Energy Transition," moderated by Alessandra Torres, President of ABRAPCH, with participation from Renata Isfer, Executive President of Abiogás; Elbia Gannoum, President of ABEEólica; Luciana Nabarrete, Director of People, Processes, and Sustainability at Engie Brazil; and Marisete Dadald, CEO of ABRAGE.

In the afternoon, the program will split into two simultaneous auditoriums.The Renewables Auditorium will host debates on energy transition, focusing on the Amazon and energy storage, with contributions from Valcléia Solidade, Superintendent of Sustainable Development of Communities at the Sustainable Amazon Foundation, and Zilda Costa, Director of Energy at UCB Power. Additionally, topics such as the 2030 Agenda, regulation, and the role of women in the energy sector will be discussed.

At the Free Market Auditorium, the program includes lectures by Natalia Resende, Secretary of Environment, Infrastructure, and Logistics, and Luciana Costa, Director of BNDES. Topics such as the massification of energy transition, the role of natural gas and biomethane, and the challenges of renewable trading will be addressed, concluding with a discussion on future scenarios and innovations in the market.

Talk Show - One of the anticipated moments is the launch of the talk show "Women in Energy," presented by Lúcia Abadia, President of Grupo Abadia; Priscila Carazatto, CEO of EGS Comercial; and Marina Meyer Falcão, Head of Legal at EGS and Legal Director at INEL. The first edition will feature the special participation of the Mayor of Jaguariúna, Gustavo Reis, President of the Metropolitan Region of Campinas, known for his innovative and sustainable management. Gustavo Reis will share his strategies for a greener and smarter future, highlighting the transformation of Jaguariúna into a model city.

"In addition to the important support from federal and state governments, this edition involves the participation of several companies that understand the importance of this debate," says Lúcia Abadia, the Congress's creator and organizer. Companies such as Itaipu Binacional, Engie, Naturgy, CEMIG (MG), EGS, Electy, RZK Energia, Nottus, Thymos, UCB Power, Origo Energia, Evoltz, Eletron Energy, PowerRev, Regis Pontes Advogados, Inter, Risk Canal Solar, Clima Tempo, ABRAPCH, National Institute of Clean Energy, Inova Green, ABEEólica, Abiogás, and Atlas Renewable Energy are among the many involved.
