The Industrial Entrepreneur Confidence Index (ICEI) advanced 1.3 points in June 2022, from 56.5 points to 57.8 points. The result demonstrates an advance in confidence compared to the previous month and places confidence in the industrial sector at the highest level since October 2021.
The indicator, calculated monthly by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), precedes industrial performance and signals the trend of industrial production. 1,573 industries were consulted between June 1st and 7th.
All components of the index rose. The Current Conditions Index advanced 2.1 points, from 49.4 points to 51.5 points. Upon exceeding the 50-point cutoff, the index demonstrates a transition from a negative to a positive perception of the industrial sector in relation to current conditions compared to the last six months. And the Expectations Index advanced one point to 61 points. Moving further above the 50-point dividing line, the index indicates greater industry optimism for the next six months.
