Taking a proactive approach to equipment health with a state-of-the-art Integrated Maintenance Center (CIM), Acelen's Mataripe Refinery achieved R$ 1.5 million in savings in just 90 days of operation. The expectation is that this value will reach R$ 15 million in the next 12 months, a significant result of the revitalization and modernization of the industrial plant initiated in 2021.
Industry 4.0 technology to optimize operations and reduce costs
Driven by Industry 4.0 and Digital Transformation, the Mataripe Refinery stands out for its innovative use of technologies for efficiency and sustainability. The CIM, inaugurated at the end of 2023, brings together multiple platforms and maintenance experts in a physical and virtual environment, monitoring the refinery's assets in real time.
Predictive maintenance: avoiding failures and optimizing resources
The differentiator of the CIM lies in the early detection of signs of equipment performance deterioration, anticipating operational failures. "Our company was born in the digital age and has been working from the beginning to modernize the refinery with new technologies," says Celso Ferreira, VP of Operations at the Mataripe Refinery. "The CIM integrates equipment and process data from various platforms, allowing predictive and preventive analyses to correct deviations before they become failures," he adds.
Benefits of CIM implementation:
Cost reduction: R$ 15 million in savings in 12 months;
Increased productivity: Optimization of the maintenance team's response time;
Greater reliability: Prevention of production losses, equipment breakdowns, and corrective maintenance expenses;
Sustainability: Reduction of the environmental impact of operations.
Innovative technology for accurate analyses
The CIM uses state-of-the-art software that integrates equipment data with process data, providing precise insights for faster and more accurate analyses by maintenance professionals. "The project requires maintenance specialists who create algorithms and, based on equipment failure mode studies, ensure the excellence and innovation of the CIM," explains Dickson Aragão, Maintenance Director at the Mataripe Refinery.
