The start-up of the Integrated Processing System (SIP) contract signed between Petrobras and Petrogal Brasil, and announced to the market on August 1, 2022, is another milestone in the opening of the gas market.

In January of this year, we had another milestone for the development of the natural gas sector with the signing of the Swap agreement, through which Repsol Sinopec's rich gas, coming from the Sapinhoá field, was sold to Petrobras at the entrance of the Processamento de Cabiúnas (UTGCAB) – part of the Integrated Processing System (SIP) – and purchased already processed at the exit. This contract was the first of its kind in the world.

Now, with the entry into operation of the SIP, other producing companies can access the gas processing units owned by Petrobras, located in the states of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, linked to the Integrated Drainage System (SIE). And with that, market their volumes of gas already processed directly to their customers.

Repsol Sinopec Brasil actively participated in the discussions for the creation and implementation of the SIE and the SIP, demonstrating our commitment to the development of a competitive and sustainable market in the country.

The new integrated gas flow and processing systems allow an even greater diversification of gas market agents, resulting in increased competition and competitiveness, contributing to the development of a competitive and sustainable market in the country.

Advances in the natural gas market are decisive for a safe and responsible energy transition towards a low carbon economy, while promoting the development of the market, industry and our country.
